My 2020/2021
MA Thesis Project
My2020/2021 is an Installation combining Documentary and Interactive Design through the use of motion and sound sensors. Participants experience a recreation of the documentary conceptualization and writing process. The participants can choose which character to focus on. By the end, they experience the documentary in its complete form.
Although collaborative and playful, My2020 asks important questions about the nature of authorship and storytelling. It also explores how a filmmaker can engage the viewer early in the creative process, rather than delivering an end result ready for consumption.
Max MSP and Arduino were used to implementing interactivity between technology and the participants.
Example: Triggering a video once a participant stands in a designated spot in the room.
